WA Exploration Tenements
Aurora Energy Metals Limited holds a portfolio of uranium exploration tenements in Western Australia. The portfolio comprises early stage exploration assets identified from radiometric anomalies within palaeochannel environments.
Palaeochannel systems are recognised for hosting significant uranium deposits globally and have historically supported uranium production in Australia. The Company’s tenements were selected based on regional geological interpretation and radiometric signatures that indicate the potential for uranium mineralisation within these sedimentary channel systems.
Prospectivity
Elevated uranium anomalies have been identified across several of the tenements, providing a foundation for targeted exploration programs designed to test the palaeochannel systems and evaluate their potential to host economic uranium mineralisation.
Low cost exploration opportunity
The Western Australian portfolio represents a low cost, early stage exploration opportunity for the Company. Initial evaluation is expected to focus on geological interpretation, target generation and staged exploration activities designed to assess the potential of the palaeochannel systems.
Strategic positioning in Western Australia
Western Australia remains one of the world’s most stable and well established mining jurisdictions. While uranium mining is currently restricted in the state, there is increasing national discussion regarding the role of nuclear energy in global decarbonisation and energy security.
Exploration strategy
Aurora intends to undertake staged technical evaluation of its WA tenure assets while also conducting a broader review of complementary exploration and development stage projects that may enhance the Company’s portfolio and support longer term growth objectives.
This approach allows Aurora to maintain exposure to uranium exploration in Western Australia while retaining flexibility to pursue additional strategic mineral opportunities as they arise.
